The Sleepy Hollow Collection was inspired by the wonderfully chilling ghost stories of our childhood - ones which quickened our pulse and simultaneously filled us with dread and excitement. The otherwise delicate sculpt is infused with eerie yet romantic images - whispers heard in rustling leaves, the wind whistling dark secrets. The collection was designed to bring these mysterious and lyrical impressions to the well-adorned gathering table.
"I am particularly fond of gently haunting imagery. In this collection, I wanted the sculpture to be immediately lovely but with a twist...the branches gnarled and bent and the leaves full of vibration, in order to create something that is almost threateningly beautiful. There was also a very distinct entertaining style built into it. My brother had a house near Sleepy Hollow in upstate New York where he used to entertain in a very casual style...a pot of perfectly prepared beef bourguignon sitting on the pot belly stove with a pile of antique soup bowls and spoons, each guest welcomed to help themselves as they felt the desire. There was a sense of ease inexorably melded with a deep impression of elegance. That is the spirit of this collection."
